State Fair of Texas 2015

We went to the State Fair of Texas last week on my school fair day. We brought along our visiting UK friends so they could experience the fair for the first time.
We stopped at the Toyota automobiles and they had boat races for the kids. Eli and our friends liked to race the motor boars.
Eli liked to ram his into the end of the tube.
Eli loved jumping into the cars and show Daddy all of the cool features.

The only food I tried...nachos. With the kids being a little rambunctious and me being big and pregnant, we didn't get to try any of the State Fair winners from this year. I'm still bummed about it.
We did get to go the petting zoo, twice!
Eli loved to watch the animals
He tried to feed them, but just kept pouring out the feed.

We did get free ice cream in the Food and Fiber pavilion.
That made his day and sugared him up.
Such a mess!
Back to the petting zoo.
He almost got licked by this big guy.
And he wanted a John Deere tractor to take home.
Too bad we couldn't get him one.

Westfest 2015

We always have a blast at WestFest over Labor Day weekend. This year the kids were more mobile and wanted to really see what WestFest was all about.
All ready to go in our rented RV for the weekend.
On Friday night, we hung out at the campgrounds and grilled.
It's always nice to hang out and catch up with everyone.
We put on some polka music and the kids started to move.
Family Selfie
Eli partied too hard on Friday night and was ready for a nap before noon.

Eli was ready to polka
The only selfie I got with him. It was very warm this year and we tried to keep cool as best we could.
All ready for WestFest.
I had to have a skunk egg, as I do every year.
There was a kids play area with sand boxes and lego tables. The kids loved it

With some of my best friends
Eli was glued to Poppy when it was time for the Jodie Mikula Orchestra to play
My aunt and uncle took the kids on stage to sing the last song of JMO's set.
Out again.
We thought Marley really liked the Ennis Czech Boys, but she was just mesmerized by her Gremlins doll.
Chris took the kids to play on some of the inflatable bounce houses.
Eli loved going down the slide.
Both kids watching Poppy play with the Ennis Czech Boys

The Texas Polka News took a picture of Eli and I for their newspaper.

Their annual picture
They've changed so much in one year.
We are going to have to add a few more heads into this last picture for the new babies coming the end of this year and beginning of the next....
